Italian Wine Tasting Holiday

Umbria Region, Umbria, Italy

Holiday itinerary

In the grounds of a wonderful 80 acre estate this beautiful luxury hotel located between Tuscany and Umbria, just 25km from the city of Perugia, offers the ideal base to explore these two celebrated wine regions.

Under the direction of your professional and knowledgeable guides, you will immerse yourself in Italian life to sample the world renowned wine produced in the area.

On a self drive tour you will be visiting Montepeluciano, Montefalco, Bevagna and Torigano to meet your English speaking wine guides who will give you a diverse range of wines to taste and discover including in the legendary Giorgio Lungarotti wine museum and the numerous osterie. Please note that if you don’t wish to drive yourself you may book a driver for an extra charge.

The aim of the course is to give you the skills to recognise and enjoy the complexity of Italian wines from these two regions, to understand the method and history of the production process and to be able to match the wine with delicious food.

On two of the evenings you will savour the refined regional cuisine, while enjoying an a la carte menu on the first night and seasonal menu on the second, as proposed by the Chef at the restaurant. As the owners of the Villa began their passionate research and selection of exclusively Umbrian produced wines in 1989, you will also have an incredible choice of wines to accompany your meal.

This is a wonderful introduction to central Italy’s rich culture of wine and food set in the beautiful surroundings, a must for any wine enthusiast.
