About the school

Jacó beach is on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, south of Puntarenas and north of Manuel Antonio in Costa Rica. Fly into to San Jose and head out to Jacó beach for an activity holiday of a lifetime.

This friendly school teaches Spanish, yoga, digital photography and surfing. You can choose to learn one of these or combine two activities and take home two new skills from your trip to Costa Rica.

Playa Jaco has a reputation for having some of the most consistent surf and as such attracts surfers from around the world. Surf courses start each week and are suitable for all levels from beginners to advanced surfers and in a town where surf boards are more common than mobile phones, it's the perfect place to learn to surf.

If it's Spanish lessons you are looking for then this professional school uses international Spanish teaching guidelines with a heavy emphasis on developing Spanish speaking skills that will help you if you are looking to continue your travels around South America after your stay in Jaco.

The lush tropical surroundings of Costa Rica offer so many photo opportunities and combining Spanish, yoga or surf lessons with a digital photography course means you'll bring home pictures you'll be proud to show your friends and family. By Taxi - Nearest airport: San Jose (also called Juan Santamaria Int'l) Airport code: SJO

You can take a taxi directly from the airport to Jacó beach for about $60 to $75 USD (price depends largely on your bargaining skills).

Approximate time: 2 hours. Taxi drivers will accept dollars or colones.

Or, you can take a bus from downtown San Jose to Jaco Beach - buses run about every 3 hours from 7.30am to 6.30pm daily.

If you arrive in the evening into San Jose after the public buses have stopped running, we recommend you take a taxi.
