Holiday itinerary
This fantastic Flamenco school is set in the heart of Seville’s Flamenco district in Andalucía. Tucked away behind winding streets lined with orange trees, the school teaches every element of this ancient and fascinating art-form including flamenco compas (rhythms) and palmas (clapping techniques).
Compás refers mostly to the clapping accompaniment essential to create the mesmerizing beat of flamenco that unites flamenco singing, dance and guitar.
Dancing to the sound of palmas (hand clapping) is one of the most beautiful parts of flamenco. Feeling these rhythms and creating them with your hands will be an unforgettable experience.
Your experienced teacher will help to develop your understanding of different styles or palos, rhythms and skills taking you through methods and clapping techniques, as well as foot tappin, all as an accompaniment to Flamenco performance.
All tuition is on a one-on-one basis and allows your compas and palmas tutor to design classes to suit your needs. Classes run everyday from Monday to Friday and in your spare time you can join other flamenco students and visit the nearby flamenco clubs, theatres and museum to practise your new found techniques.

Suitability
- Suitable for all levels from beginners to advanced
- These courses can be combined perfectly with dance, guitar and Spanish lessons and will help you deepen your understanding of all Flamenco disciplines
- Minimum age 16
- Courses are taught in Spanish but the majority of teachers speak a little English
Travelling Solo?
- This Flamenco course makes a great singles holiday as it is very sociable and you can add your own private room in a shared house at the time of booking
Flamenco Course Start Days
- Courses start on Mondays throughout the year
- You will have 1 private 1 hour classes per day from Monday to Friday
- The exact time of your lessons will be allocated after booking, if you have any preferences to the start time of lessons, please ensure you add this to the special request box at the time of booking
Where Will I Practise Compas Rythmns?
- Courses are practised in the bright music rooms at the Flamenco school
- Note: There is always 1 teacher to every student on this course as the lessons are given on a one-to-one basis
About Your Flamenco Teachers
- There are 10 Flamenco tutors at the school
- Each tutor has their own unique style and technique of teaching the art of Flamenco
- All of the tutors have a wealth of knowledge and patience and have been teaching for over 10 years
- Francisco Morales the main compas y palmas teacher is also a guitar teacher
- He has been teaching his inherent talent for the Flamenco compas to every level from beginner to advanced for many years and runs his own Flamenco company teaching and performing to professional levels
What Will I Learn?
- The basic techniques of the compass and palmas
- How to identify the various Flamenco rhythms
- How to use your feet as well as your hands to accompany Flamenco artists
- Each basic family of palos such as soleá, bulerías, tientos, seguiriyas etc. will all be covered
- The goal is to enable students to properly accompany the rhythms of guitar and dance
Optional Accommodation
- This Flamenco school offers optional accommodation staying with Spanish locals in a shared apartment which can help you immerse yourself in the Spanish culture
- Accommodation starts on a Sunday and you check out on Saturday morning after your course ends
- Accommodation can be added during the booking process
