Holiday Itinerary

Come join your enthusiastic and welcoming hosts for 7 nights / 8 days in a laid back, relaxing house conveniently located in the town of Lajares, just 6-8 kilometres from El Cotillo, Corralejo and La Oliva.

Whether you are new to yoga, just starting a new fitness regime or simply like to keep active on holiday, come join in and see how much better it is with a group of like minded people!

While there are 5 yoga sessions and 4 fitness sessions during the week, nothing is regimental, as your hosts want you to have the free time to explore this lovely part of the island as well as time to kick back and relax.

The house, your accommodation for the week, is peaceful and tucked away, with terraces and even a BBQ, to keep a communal spirit and encourage you to get to know other guests.

If you have had a full day of yoga, fitness and swimming and are burned out; perhaps throw something on the BBQ and relax with a good book. If you find yourself revived after your workouts, grab some new friends and see what the nightlife is like - the house is ideal for the variety of choice it offers.

Just a 10 minute walk away from the centre of Lajares, Lajares itself is filled with great restaurants with anything from pizza, to vegetarian dishes, or to fresh seafood, as well as a local surfers’ bar, leaving you with a different option for every night of the week. The white beaches are also about an hours’ walk away, however feel free to borrow a bicycle and get yourself there in 10 minutes.

If you would like to try something new in your free time, or add on more lessons, your hosts would be happy to accommodate you and see you get exactly what you need. Take an afternoon to SUP, or try your hand at windsurfing, or just have a day in the shops and try some tapas with a cold glass of white wine.

This is your holiday, and your hosts want to help you make the most of it.

Travelling solo?
- These holidays make great singles holidays as rooms are shared (twin with 1 other of the same sex) so you don’t have to pay a single supplement and meet new people who are also solo travellers

- Holidays run year round taking advantage of the great weather and arrivals are on any day of the week
- Fitness and yoga holidays are for 7 nights/8 days

Fitness and yoga holiday itinerary
The itinerary is for guidance only and is subject to change depending on the group’s needs and wishes but is typically as follows:

Day 1 - Arrival
- Arrive and settle in to your home for the week
- Take your time relax or discover the area and town of Lajares

Days 2 - 7
- There will be 5 yoga sessions and 4 fitness sessions over 5 of these days, doing a variety of fitness techniques, along with plenty of free time for you to explore or relax
- Additionally, you can add on plenty of other activities if you’re looking to really exert your fitnesses level on your holiday, or try your hand at a new water sport
- There will be one free day so you have the option to really get out and discover the island by car, bus, or bicycle

Day 8 - Departure
- Check out of your room and head back home full of energy


About your hosts and instructors
Martin
- Martin grew up next to the Black Sea, and started windsurfing at 8 years old
- As a teenager he taught and competed for the local windsurf club
- After a few years in the office life, he decided it was time for a change and went to Tarifa to get his VDWS instructor license and started teaching windsurf again
- Martin has a direct, straightforward style of teaching, he will always make sure people learn to sail save and independent in different conditions
- Since 2017, he has had his Water Safety (lifeguard) and International Surf Instructor Certificates (ISA)
- Martin also has a passion for travelling and surfing, and speaks English, Spanish, Dutch and Bulgarian

Eline
- Eline grew up further from the beach but as a kid her mother took her windsurfing around the lakes in Holland and there she found the love for windsurf
- After a break from the water while healing from injuries, she discovered the advantages of yoga
- She got inspired and got her teaching certificate in Indonesia and became a Vinyasa Yoga Teacher, and since 2014 she has been teaching at Yoga Zevenbergen in Holland, and has since taught classes in Portugal, Spain, Nicaragua, Peru, Panama and Bulgaria
- Eline is certified in Vinyasa, Yin and Motherhood by Birthlight, and speaks English, Spanish, German and Dutch

- Although Eline and Martin started these amazing holiday experiences, they are backed by a team of fun loving and caring teachers and instructors, who will guide you in yoga, surf, fitness and fun
- The team has been carefully selected to work with every level and age in a full range of activities and languages


What will I learn?
Your hosts encourage their guests to learn how to listen to their hearts, how to do what they want to do, and feel free. If something else is calling you from a scheduled activity, go for it.

Yoga
- In your yoga lessons, you will focus on awareness of the self and the body, to find out where your body is stronger and weaker, and ultimately to find your natural posture and how to adapt
- This is a great opportunity to work on form and posture, and to break old habits
- The best thing to learn is that you are stronger than you think!

Fitness
- Fitness sessions will be based around Bootcamp style training with HIIT & circuit training
- Sessions may take place on the beach, in the park, next to the the ocean on the boulevard; fresh air, a bit of sunshine and an ocean breeze are the best conditions to work out in
- Fitness will also focus on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle, incorporate health into your daily life with realistic goals, and approaches to stay motivated


Accommodation
- You will stay in a surf house set in a typical Canarian style villa
- Rooms are spacious with exposed stone walls and woodwork
- There are 4 big bedrooms and 3 bathrooms so there is plenty of personal space for guests
- You will also find a fully equipped kitchen you are free to use along with a dining area and BBQ to make your own meals
- In the garden, there are hammocks and quiet corners to relax in as well as a roof terrace
- Prices are based on shared twin room with shared bathroom
- Couples and friends will be placed in a double bed or twin room and solo travellers will be placed with another traveller of the same sex
- Private rooms may also be available for an additional supplement
- Check in/out times are available on request


Meals
- No meals are included in the price of the holiday to keep costs low and there is a fully equipped kitchen where you can prepare your own meals
- Breakfast can be added on if you wish so you don’t have to think about it in the morning; just let us know if you would like to add this to your booking (€62 per week / €9 per day for a vegetarian/vegan breakfast)
- You can also head into town and treat yourself at one of many restaurants or cafes
- A coffee and a croissant in the morning would cost you just under €3
- A large baguette sandwich stuffed with your choice of fillings is €3 at the artisanal bakery
- There are plenty of options, including pizzas, burritos, paella, fresh fish, and local dishes; eating out can be very affordable


Free time in the area
- This is a great area for meeting people, eating out, hitting the beach or getting active
- Here are some local activities you can join:
- SUP Yoga lessons or SUP only - €37 for one person / €53 for 2 people
- One extra windsurf lesson - €65

- Kitesurf lessons at a local school - approx. €120
- Bikes are available for you to use at the house; however if none are available you can rent one from €8
- Massage - €65
- Private yoga sessions - €25
- Surf Safari (material, guide and transport) - €45
- Scuba Diving at a local school - €80 for beginners
- Workout/Bootcamp/Personal Training - 90 minutes for €40 / 60 minutes for €30
