Horse Riding Holiday For Intermediate And Experienced Riders

South West, Dordogne, France

About the location

Located only a 20 minute drive from Bergerac airport, this beautiful manor is not only easily accessible but has the added benefit of being in a stunning rural location in the French countryside with an unrivalled selection of activities and natural beauty surrounding the manor house.

Accommodation is set in a magnificent renovated 18th century manor house, with open fireplaces and fully furnished double bedrooms with private bathrooms. There is also the pigeonnier (converted dovecote) and the wing, which provide additional accommodation in the grounds of the manor house. All have been lovingly restored to an extremely high standard, retaining the rustic French charm with modern luxuries intertwined.

Spend your free time exploring the breath-taking surrounding area, including over 7 acres of private land, the fishing and boating lake, huge meadow garden, trout stream and much more. Or if you’re feeling energetic, take a swim in the heated swimming pool or play a game of tennis on the full size tennis court.

This beautiful country house runs horse riding holidays as well as French language immersion courses. Language learners do not require a car as transport is provided by minibuses. If guests are travelling with a non-participating partner or friend, then they are free to hire a car locally so as to be independent in the mornings when lessons are taking place.

Take time to ride through the surrounding countryside, vineyards and meadows on your specially selected horse. The horses are sourced from an experienced trekking company and will stay at the manor house in a 18th century converted barn for the duration of your stay and spend much of their time grazing in the paddocks behind the house and paddling in the lake. This riding school is also an approved Associated British Riding School equestrian riding centre.

Your host, Jane, is extremely welcoming and friendly, and will do everything possible to ensure that you have a horse riding holiday like no other. Your experienced horse riding instructor, Antoine, will be accompanied by Olivier, Manuel or David during your rides, all of whom have spent their lives with horses and are bursting with knowledge on the local area and will make sure that your safety and enjoyment comes first at all times.

Chef Bernadette will be on hand to cook delicious regional cuisine, such as duck, foie gras and truffles, and hand pick some of Bergerac’s best local wines to accompany your meals.

Relax and revive in the beautiful French countryside, explore the meadows and vineyards by horseback, stay in an elegant 18th century manor house and enjoy great company on this horse riding holiday with a difference.
