What a weekend

(Excuse the blurry picture, the Destinations dream team wouldn’t let me put anything clearer on the website – now they come over all shy!)

It’s late Tuesday afternoon and we’ve finally had 5mins to stop for tea and lots of cake to celebrate one of the team’s birthdays after an incredibly busy week. Not only did we launch a brand new website but we also spent 4 fast paced days at the Destinations Show meeting some of our existing customers as well as inspiring lots of lovely people to take a learning holiday in 2011.

Our holiday courses stood out from the crowd and were the cause of a few quizzical looks, some outright excitement of discovering a range of holidays that they had only dreamed of and some real intrigue in the holidays.

Although you can’t please everyone, we did have one guy who was so disgusted with the idea of learning on holiday he threw the card back at us whilst exclaiming ‘not in my lifetime’ in a Peter Kay-like accent – oh well you can’t win them all!

Top courses were photography, painting, cooking and wine tasting as well as learning a language but in the words of Marks and Spencer, these are no ordinary language holidays, these are all about immersing yourself in the culture and language on a unique live-in with your teacher course.

We also had a lot of yoga fans, strictly come tango dancers and some really adventurous people looking to travel across South America learning Spanish, surfing, salsa dancing and more.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the 1000’s of people who stopped by the stand to find out more or just to say Hi. It was a real treat to meet you and to find out more about what you want from your holidays. Wishing everyone the very best of luck in our competition. The winner will be drawn next week and the long list of exciting prizes will be on its way to the lucky winner soon.

Happy holidays!
