‘The best holiday I have been on by far’ – why Louise loved her horse riding and Spanish cooking holiday in Andalucia

Horse riding and Spanish cookery holiday in Andalucia, Spain

Louise, a keen horse rider who rides regularly, was excited to share about the best holiday she had ever been on. Read on to find out more about her wonderful horse riding and Spanish cooking holiday in Andalucia, Spain!

Favourite holiday moments…

Going on a 3 hour ride through the vineyards was wonderful, as well as knowing there was a lovely quiet pool for me to go back to and relax by afterwards.

Hosts Clive and Maki

Clive and Maki have a beautiful Finca and make you feel at home. They made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived and were perfect hosts.

Learning to cook

I thoroughly enjoyed my cooking lesson and the food on the other nights. Clive is a very good teacher and made the cookery lesson easy to follow and relaxed. Since getting home, I have made the cherry clafoutis which turned out lovely.

Learning to ride

I usually ride every week anyway, but Dorca the riding instructor was brilliant and rectified my bad habits, resulting in a much more pleasurable horse ride. I now try to remember the tips that Dorca gave me to improve my riding on my weekly rides.

On solo travel and the other people on the holiday

I have travelled on my own before but sometimes felt uncomfortable when sitting in restaurants on my own. This was perfect as it was small and intimate with other solo travellers/like-minded people. It was a friendly group, another single woman and 2 friends. We got along well and caught up over dinner about what we had been doing during the day. We were all on a different activities so it was good to hear about the places they had visited. Definitely a place I would recommend for anyone travelling on their own.

To those considering this holiday:

If you like good food, good company and want to learn new skills in a relaxing environment then this is the place to go.

Anything else to add?

Only that I will be booking again soon.
