15 photos to inspire you to join an activity holiday on the Côte d’Azur

They say a picture is worth 1,000 words, so here are 15,500 words (we couldn’t help but write a few) to inspire you to join a multi-activity holiday in Saint-Jeannet on the Côte d’Azur:

The activities

This activity holiday is unlike most — instead of standard activities each day, a weekly rotation of fun excursions and activities keep the itinerary fresh. You can arrive any time during the week and stay as long as you like, picking and choosing the activities you’d like to take part in.

Some days, you’ll end up off the beaten track on a goat farm, sampling cheese. On others, you may be swimming in the ocean or finishing the day tasting wines at a local vineyard.

In general, Mondays are spent walking around the quaint town of Saint-Jeannet and up the nearby bluff for 360° panoramic views.

Tuesdays, you’ll find the group exploring the narrow streets of nearby Antibes and Vence.

Wednesdays are reserved for the historic perched villages and a visit to the goat farm and winery mentioned above.

Thursdays mean the coast — a trip to Nice and the sea will give you a chance to appreciate why this area is called the Cote d’Azur (Blue Coast).

Finally, Fridays encompass French cooking at its finest. Guests concoct a 3-course meal alongside host, Corinne, for the day and of course eat it together afterwards.

To all of this, you can add yoga sessions in the morning if you’d like some extra relaxation.

The accommodation

The hosts, Corinne and Benoit (pictured at the top of this post) have lovingly restored a 19th century B&B, and now run it with their family. Though the place dates back to 1850, the rooms are modern and all include en-suite bathrooms.

Each of the bright, spacious guest rooms comes with a spectacular view and plenty of natural light.

A communal kitchen, lounge area, and terrace accommodate the needs of everyone — from single travellers to groups — so that by the end of the holiday, it’s like a second home.

The location

Right in the middle of the quiet village of Saint-Jeannet, this family-hotel-turned-B&B rests only thirty minutes away from Nice and the coast and a five-minutes’ walk from the Mediterranean hills.

Saint-Jeannet is a charming medieval village perched on the hilltops of Provence overlooking Nice. Though it’s just 15km from the Cote d’Azur, and 20km from Nice Cote D’Azur Airport, you’ll be engulfed in the serenity and beauty of this wild region, allowing you to unplug and unwind from the bustle of everyday life.

Terraces and medieval streets are ideal for exploring the local culture and cuisine, while the nearby hills make for excellent hikes and views.

Although the history of medieval Saint-Jeannet remains uncertain, it is, so to speak, set in stone. Official documents speak of several villages at the foot of Sancti Johannis Baou Alagoda (the cliff) dating from the 11th century. Left today are medieval houses, churches, winding cobbled streets, wineries, panoramic views and hiking trails that lead to astounding natural beauty.
