Australians have a new route to Paris with Air Austral announcing its Sydney – Reunion Island – Paris (Charles de Gaulle) service starting on the 14 April 2009.

Reunion, often referred to as the world’s most secret tropical paradise, is located 130 km south west of the coast of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean.

The tropical island is the furthest overseas region of France, and home to the French airline company of the Indian Ocean, Air Austral.

The twice weekly flights will be operated with a brand new Boeing 777-300 aircraft, prices will be announced shortly and the Sydney to Paris route is currently subject to government approval.
