Passionate about travel and marketing – funny you should ask

Avril

“Passionate about travel and marketing?” read the Gumtree ad… Funny you should ask, I thought, clicking eagerly. I had found the perfect internship and couldn’t wait to get started. Armed with a marketing degree, a taste for travel and oodles of ambition, I set off for London to embark upon my new adventure.

The tight-knit team at GoLearnTo welcomed me with open arms, a steaming mug of tea and a lovely list of tasks to keep me busy! Perfectly positioned in a small yet successful company, sitting right next to its inspirational founder, this was just the kick-start my career needed. I had the chance to see how an idea can transform into a successful business and to discover the day-to-day workings of an up-an-coming company.

The days flew by and were filled with all sorts of tasks (some more exciting than others!) teaching me everything there is to know about online marketing as well as equipping me with great transferable skills.

Highlights included brushing up on my languages while liaising with international suppliers, honing my writing skills by working on newsletters, press releases and blogs, and getting some face-to-face action with potential customers (and a day out of the office!) flyering at top events in London.

Now the fateful day has arrived, my 3 month stint has come to an end and I’m heading off back into the big bad world – now with a CV boosting internship under my belt and tonnes of ideas for my next holiday!
