You’ll have 2 cooking lessons each week where you will learn to cook a full French menu and fully immerse yourself in the country’s delicious cuisine before sitting down and enjoying the mouth-watering food you have prepared.

French and Cooking Courses Start Days
- The language school is open year round with a break for Christmas and at the end of August
- The cooking school is closed at Easter, selected weeks in August and during the Christmas period
- French and cooking courses start on selected Mondays throughout the year
- If you book the optional accommodation with this learning holiday, you’ll check-in on Sunday before the course starts

How Will I Learn French?
- Lessons are focused on having fun and classes are highly interactive
- You will focus on the four main language skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening
- There will be individual and group work such as role plays and conversation practice
- You’ll also work on developing your grammar in practical contexts
- You will learn with a wide range of teaching aids; language text books, French press, audio/video, French songs or games and each week your linguistic skills are assessed to ensure you are always in the right group for your level
- All lessons are given in French for all levels as this is a proven teaching method that ensures you rapidly progress

What Will I Learn During The Cookery Course?
- Cooking lessons are held at a small private cooking school in the centre of Toulouse
- You will learn how to cook from a professional French Chef
- You will have 2 cooking classes where you can learn about a wide variety of French cuisine, from traditional to themed workshops, such as desserts, seafood and much more
- To ensure you get the most out of your cooking lesson all workshops have a maximum of 5 people
- How to cook and prepare the menu
- The history of French food and etiquette
- Learn lots of new French vocabulary
- Cooking lessons are also a great way to meet locals as French people from Toulouse regularly attend the course

Starters

French Course Schedule
- Classes start at 9.15am each day
- Classes run daily Monday through to Friday each week
- You will have 4 group classes per day lasting 50 minutes each
- You will have a short coffee break around 11am

Cooking Course Schedule
- Each week you will choose two cooking lessons
- Lessons take place in the afternoon or evening depending on the menu
- Cooking lessons are available on Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday
- Your lesson will last between 1.5 - 2 hours depending on the menu, after your hands-on lesson you will sit down to eat the delicious meal you have prepared

Free Time in Toulouse, France
Many people on these holiday courses travel solo as they make perfect singles holidays so the language school organises a host of social and cultural activities each week to help you to get to know your fellow classmates and to integrate you into the French way of life, some activities are free and others have a small charge and may include:
- Guided tours of the city centre of Toulouse with lunch at a typical French restaurant
- Excursions to Carcassonne, nearby medieval village of Cordes, the castle of Montsegur and the remains of the Cathar strongholds
- Visits to the Toulouse Lautrec museum
- Parties and picnics
- Rugby games
- Cinema, theatre and opera visits
- You will have plenty of free time to explore the local area and practice your new found language skills or just kick back and relax on this language learning holiday

French Language Level Test
- Please arrive at the school by 8 am on your first day for a short level test
- This test will assess your understanding of the language and will help the course organisers to place you in the right group class for your level

Other information
- We recommend that you take a small French dictionary, pens and paper with you

Optional Accommodation
- This language school offers a choice of optional accommodation either staying with a local French family to immerse yourself in the French culture and practice your French or in a shared apartment with other students
