Singles holidays

Singles holidays but not as you know them

solos holidays

Singles holidays should be brilliant. With no one else to satisfy, you can forget about compromise and just choose your destination, your accommodation, your itinerary, and go!

More and more people are getting it. One third of all overseas holidays from the UK are made by singles, with the number of people flying solo increasing at an average of 1% a year.

Singles holidays aren’t just growing, they’re growing up too! And we should know: 80% of the holidaymakers that take advantage of our range of inspirational holiday courses are single women.

Authentic holiday experiences

So while you might hear the words “solo holiday” and immediately think of uninspiring tours by day and too many sangrias and dodgy nightclubs by night, the truth is that many single travellers are taking advantage of something much, much better.

We structure all our learning courses, from cookery to yoga holidays, on an independent approach. A major benefit of being single is the independence it brings, and there’s absolutely no reason why holidays shouldn’t maximise that. And when it comes to meeting people, we think the like-minded variety is better, rather than the random you’re stuck next to as you’re herded around in a sweaty coach.

So whether it’s the opportunity to make friendships, enjoy authentic experiences, or feel the satisfaction of learning a new skill, our learning holiday ideas are ideal for singles. Here are some of our favourites.

Personalised Perfumery Course – Eze, France

The one-and-two-day courses available at the Galimard perfume school , a Mecca to perfume, are as luxurious as the scents you will craft. With over 140 essences to build the perfect fragrance and a master perfumier at hand, you’ll emerge with a deeper understanding of the subject and a unique perfume that turns heads.

Organic Cookery Short Break – Puglia, Italy

Italy’s a favourite for travellers the world over, and the mouth-watering cuisine might just be the biggest draw. The south-eastern province of Puglia is a huge favourite among Italians and produces more wine and olive oil than anywhere else in the country. This five-day break sees holiday makers stay in authentic ‘Trullos’, learn to cook delicious local dishes, and spend their afternoons exploring.

French Language Course – Paris, France

French classes at school may have been a dull, but combining them with a stay in one of the world’s most alluring cities certainly won’t be! Learning a language is an ambition many of us harbour, and with this seven-day, 26-lesson intensive course you’ll be well on your way to achieving it. Lessons end by lunchtime, so you’ll have the opportunity to put your linguistic skills to the test in the cities myriad cafes, bars and bistros.

Photography and Cookery Holiday – Essaouira, Morocco

When travelling, many of us like nothing more than to get our digital camera out and capture a unique, beautiful reminder of our stay. And with this fantastic break you can improve your technique and test it on the beautiful coastal town of Essaouira, with its maze-like markets and gorgeous landscapes. And if that wasn’t enough, you have two cookery lessons to perfect delicious Moroccan food.
