Netmums back to school resolutions

In a Netmums survey we found that our members tend to make their resolutions not in the New Year but in September, when the kids go back to school. Something about that fresh new term seems to get mums thinking about turning a new leaf, trying something new and finally fulfilling those dreams and ambitions we’ve been putting off for too long.

Our survey found that 47% of mums would love to learn something new during the forthcoming school year so if you’re one of the mums who has put that at the top of their list of priorities now the kids are back in school here’s a great place to start.

For a real once-in-a-lifetime experience, how about learning something new in a different country? If it’s possible both financially and practically, the chance to leave behind your normal life for a week or two and immerse yourself in learning, amid a different backdrop and culture, is an experience you won’t forget. Prices can vary hugely, depending on the duration and location of a learning trip, but a good place to look for a variety of courses at prices to suit different pockets is golearnto.com. You can search by price range, location and duration on the site, to find out about everything from day courses in perfume making in the South of France to two-week Tango dancing courses in Buenos Aires.

Or how about learning Flamenco in Spain, Tuscan cookery in Florence, Yoga in Turkey or photography in France? There is also a range of immersion language courses you can follow, too, where you get to enjoy formal and conversational lessons in the country itself, using what you’ve learnt during your free time out and about in cafes, restaurants and tourist sights. Or you could combine language learning with cookery – how about learning Arabic and how to make some traditional Moroccan recipes, for example? Visit golearnto.com to find out more.
