Go learn to kitesurf in Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands, surrounded by the beautiful beaches and fantastic kitesurfing conditions that attract the world’s best kite surfers.

Kitesurfing is the fastest growing and the wildest new water sport for years, harnessing the power of the wind and sea you learn to control your board and your kite for an exhilarating experience.

This great value kitesurf holiday includes 7 nights' accommodation in one of two fun, modern and well equipped surf hostels in the centre of Corralejo close to the beach and the town centre. You’ll have transport provided to and from all the best kitesurf spots and use of top quality equipment that is suited to you individually, ensuring you get the most out of every lesson.

You will be taught by highly qualified and experienced kite surf instructors who are IKO accredited with the International Kite Boarding Organisation.

Learning to kitesurf over four days gives you more time to get to grips with this exciting sport and you’ll take your kitesurfing skills to the next level as you indulge your need for action and adrenaline.

Who is this suitable for?

- Kite Surfing is great fun for everyone but it’s best to bear in mind that it can be physically demanding at times

I'm a solo traveller - can I join?
- If you are travelling solo, you will share a mixed dorm room which will help you get to meet your fellow surfers
- Or, if you prefer your own space, you can pay a single supplement for your own room, to book a single room email

When can I start?
- The kitesurf school is open year round as the weather is always mild  
- Arrivals are on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays and classes start the following day
- Tuition starts on a Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday and the course runs for 4 days
- Arrivals on other days are also available should they be required - email for more information

Typical itinerary
Day 1: Arrival day
- You will be picked up from Fuerteventura airport and taken to the kitesurf hostel
- You'll have time to check into your room, meet your fellow kitesurfers and make your own arrangements for dinner in the evening

Days 2-7: Kitesurfing
- Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before getting ready for your kitesurf lessons
- You will have around 3 hours of kitesurfing lessons each day for 4 days
- Tuition starts on a Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday and runs for 4 days
- Please note that you'll have 2 days off during this period (the exact days to be confirmed on arrival)
- You will set out with your instructor in the morning to find the best wind and all transport is provided to the day's kitesurf spot
- Note: the exact time of your kitesurf lessons will be advised on arrival and are subject to the wind conditions that day
- A packed lunch and plenty of water is provided
- You are free to take breaks when you want, if you feel tired you can sit on the beach and soak up some sun

Days 8: Departure and transfer to Fuerteventura airport
- After breakfast, check out of your room by 10am ready for your transfer back to Fuerteventura airport taking home with you some new found windsurf skills that will stay with you long after the holiday is over 

What will I learn?
- Safety issues and systems
- The theory of kitesurfing
- How to fly and control the kite (from 2m to 5m)
- How to launch the kite into the sea
- Body dragging in the water
- If you progress quickly or are intermediate you will work on getting up on your board out at sea

What can I do in my free time?
- With 300 days of sunshine a year, over 150 beaches and many beautiful reefs there is a lot to explore in Fuerteventura be it on foot or by sea
- You can spend your evenings in any of the lively bars the many great restaurants or take a stroll along the beach

Where will I be staying?
- Accommodation is based in one of two surf hostels (full details on each can be found below)
- Guests who choose Sol y Mar will be upgraded FREE of charge from a dorm to a twin room (subject to availability), those who choose Surfers' Retreat packages do NOT include a free upgrade and all prices are based on mixed shared rooms
- If you would prefer your own private single room, a supplement will be charged
- For those of you who have brought your boards with you or gotten so good you’ve bought one there, there is full surf board storage available to you
- A continental breakfast is included for you to get your energy levels up for the day’s surfing
- Clean bed linen + towels are provided for every guest once a week
- All the communal areas are cleaned 7 days a week to make sure they are spick and span

Sol y Mar
- You’ll be staying in a fun modern and well equipped hostel 5 minutes from the beaches and the town centre
- There are 2 fully equipped kitchens available with: gas hobs, ovens, microwaves, fridge/freezers and pots, pans, utensils for you to use at the hostel, great if you’re on a budget or if you are travelling solo and want to get to know your fellow surfers
- The comfortable communal living room comes with satellite TV and WiFi access
- There are 4 shared bathrooms
- The roof terrace is a great place to have your breakfast or soak up the evening sun after a long day’s surfing

Surfers' Retreat
- This is also a modern and well equipped hostel just 15 minutes from the town centre
- There are 4 bedrooms that include double, twin and mixed dorm rooms with shared bathrooms
- Plenty of social common areas for guests to hang out and relax in; living room, kitchen, upstairs terrace and outdoor dining area
- The kitchen is fully equipped for you to make your own meals but please note there is no dishwasher or washing machine
- This hostel has a small pool and terrace area for cooling off and/or sunbathing

Where will I be located?
- Sol y Mar is centrally located in Corralejo not far from the port and close to the town centre
- Surfers' Retreat is also located in Corralejo close to Campanario Shopping Centre
- Although both located in the town of Corralejo, Sol y Mar would be considered more central and Surfers' Retreat is on the other side of town closer to the beaches
- Transport will be provided to and from your surf apartment to the surf spot every day
- Transport is in a 4 x 4 so you can be assured you’ll be able to reach even the most remote surf spots to catch the best waves

Kitesurf equipment
- You will be kitted out in top quality wetsuits
- This school has 7 sizes of kite boards ranging from 128 to 155 in varying widths
- Kitesurf  brands a plenty from North Xride, North Jaime Pro, Fanatic Duke, North Phantom including boards for Waves/ Freeride/ Freestyle and light wind performance.
- Please note that you have around 3.5 hours of lessons per day but if that’s not enough for you and you still have some energy left after your lessons, you can hire the equipment when you have enough experience for use in your free time if you would like to practice your kiteboard skills
