Nearest airports: Almeria, Alicante, Granada or Murcia (under 200km away) Note: If you are not hiring a car, we recommend flying to Alicante, Almeria or Granada as public transport from these airports is available By taxi: Taxis are available outside all airports although the holidays are located in a rural location and can be expensive. We do recommend you book a private car transfer in advance for ease of travel and to fix a price for a taxi. Pre-booked return taxi transfers: Taxis can be pre-booked for 250 Euros return (per car, for up to 4 people): Transfer times Almeria or Murcia airports – 1 hour 45 minutes Granada or Alicante airports – 2 hours The cost is paid to the creative retreat upon arrival. To confirm your transfer, if you have added this on to your booking at the time of confirming your course, please provide your full flight arrival and departure information within 14 days of your travel date. Public Transport: Public transport tends to be easier from Granada or Alicante airports where there is a bus to the nearest village called Vélez Rubio. Note: Alicante airport coaches stop for a siesta between 2 and 4. To get to the retreat the same day it is recommended that you book a flight that arrives in Alicante before midday so you can arrive in Vélez Rubio after lunch. Bus from Granada direct to Vélez Rubio – 2.5 hours The company that operates this service is called ALSA and you can pre-book your bus journey online direct from the airport to Vélez Rubio, where you will be collected. for an additional cost (to cover petrol). Email for details with your coach arrival time. Bus from Alicante airport via Murcia city to Vélez Rubio – 3-3.5 hours Bus from Almeria airport to Puerto Lumbreras which is a village 50minutes from the school, you can then arrange a collection by private car from the bus station in Puerto Lumbreras for 20 Euros Note: there is no public transport from Murcia airport Car Hire: We strongly recommend car hire with these holidays as it is usually the easiest and cheapest way to reach the school.
