Tucked away in the peaceful and picturesque village of Askeli in Poros, this friendly cooking school, just a few minutes from the beach, is the setting for your Greek cooking holiday experience.

Under the guidance of your fun and friendly Greek host Chef Katerina, you will immerse yourself in Greek life to discover the gastronomic delights of this beautiful area of Poros. Learning about the historical roots of traditional Greek cooking you will learn to cook both traditional and modern Greek dishes.

The aim of the course is to give you the skills to cook fabulous Greek dishes from the region to impress even the most experienced foodies back home. All cooking courses are hands-on and will give you a great insight into delicious Greek cuisine.

Suitability
- Suitable for all levels from complete beginners to experienced foodies - Your hosts are Greek but speak perfect English
- Minimum age: 10 (children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult)


Travelling Solo?
- These Greek cookery holidays make great singles holidays and in fact, many people travel solo
- Solo travellers can have a private single room for no single supplement in low season. To check availability for singles please contact us at with your preferred date of travel
- If you are looking to travel solo in July and August please contact us at and we may be able to accommodate your request depending on availability, a single supplement may be applicable

Greek Cookery Break Start Days
- This Greek cooking holiday runs on set dates from April – October
- Arrival days vary and can be  any day of the week
- All courses include 2 nights / 3 days accommodation


Greek Cooking Break Itinerary
- Please note that the itinerary is for guidance only and times and menus may change subject to weather conditions and availability of fresh ingredients at the time of travel

Day 1 – Arrival Day
- Check-in to your accommodation anytime after midday
- Katerina, your chef, will welcome you
- You have the afternoon free to explore Askeli, relax by the pool, or enjoy the pleasures of a swim in the clear blue sea
-  In the evening you will be a guest at the welcome dinner, Katerina will introduce you to some of the food that you will learn to cook during your stay

Day 2 – Free Time and Cooking Class
- Enjoy a leisurely Greek breakfast
- After breakfast, you will look more closely at the menus and recipes
- Lunch will be served around 12.30pm
- Afterwards you may like to take a stroll into Poros town or a walk followed by a swim in the local bay
- Your first cookery lesson will begin at 2.30pm, followed by a late afternoon drink or a small siesta
- You will return to your class around 5pm to cook the final stages of dinner which will be served in the relaxed evening atmosphere

Day 3 – Departure Day
- After breakfast guests are asked to check-out of their rooms by 11am ready for departure, taking home with you new cooking skills and an insight into Greek life that will stay with you long after the holiday is over


What Will I Learn?
- Courses concentrate on typical modern and traditional Greek cuisine: its meze, meat and fresh fish with plenty of fresh herbs
- At the start of your stay, Katerina will discuss menus with you to ensure you cover any particular skills you want to learn during your course


Sample Greek Menus
Dishes vary according to the season and what food is available but may include:
- Gyros
- Baklava
- Kleftiko
- Souvlaki
- Mezethes
- Lamb and potato cooked in a wood oven
- Tzatziki
- Stuffed vine leaves
- Dolmadakia
- Roast pork
- Greek salads
- Fish sauces
- Roasted vegetables
- Herb dressings

Dietary requests can be catered for including vegetarians if advised at the time of booking


About Your Chef
- The chef at the school is Katerina, she is friendly, professional and passionate about cooking and the historical roots of traditional Greek cooking
- Specialising in both traditional and modern Greek cooking Katerina's skills have become very sought after and when she is not giving lessons in Poros or preparing and supervising the meals at the school’s Bistro in Askeli, she also provides lessons in Greek cooking throughout other parts of Europe


Accommodation
- You’ll stay in traditional style Greek apartments just a few minutes from the beautiful unspoilt beaches of Askeli
- Your accommodation is located just 2 kilometres from the main town of Poros, 6 minutes by taxi, and you will also be within easy reach of Athens by the modern and efficient ferry service
- The accommodation offers 11 apartments in total that can accommodate between 2 and 5 adults
- Each apartment is fully equipped with air conditioning, kitchenette and fridge, a bathroom with a shower and a veranda seating area with table and chairs


Meals
- Breakfast is included each day
- 1 evening meal are also included at the school’s Bistro
