Whatever your level, from elementary to advanced, choosing to learn Italian in Italy is the best way to accelerate your learning experience.

Combine Italian lessons with a fun Italian cooking course and immerse yourself in the local culture and take home two new skills that will stay with you long after your trip is over.

Taught by highly qualified native Italian speakers who have a passion for teaching, your language lessons are highly interactive and you will speak Italian from day 1 both inside and outside of the classroom.

Twice a week, be prepared to don your apron for your hands-on Italian cooking lessons. Make dishes from a selection of fish dishes, Tuscan dishes, pizza, pastry, or ice cream.

Go learn to speak Italian in a group class where you can share your passion with others from around the globe and learn the skills to create a delicious authentic Italian feast once you’re home.

- The cooking classes welcome all levels but are best for those wanting to learn the basics of Italian cuisine


Who Are Our Guests?
- People come from all over the world and you’ll never be placed in a class with just English speakers so that you use the language you are learning rather than resorting to chatting in English
- Ages vary, but the typical language learner falls in to the 20-60 age bracket though we have no age limit and we’ve had guests in their 70s and 80s studying languages with us
- During the summer and in university holiday times the average age typically drops and there are many guests in their 20s
- Over 90% of our language learners travel solo and every school organises social and cultural activities to help you get to know others at the school outside of class
- Of course, everyone shares a passion or interest in discovering a new language and culture


Italian Course Start Days
- This language school is open all year round except for a break for Christmas
- Classes start on selected Mondays throughout the year
- If you book the optional accommodation with this learning holiday, you’ll check-in on the Sunday before the course starts


What Will I Learn?
- Italian courses are focused on having fun and classes are highly interactive
- You will focus on the four main Italian language skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening
- There will be individual and group work such as role plays and conversation practice
- You’ll also work on developing your grammar in practical contexts
- You will learn with a wide range of teaching aids; language text books, Italian press, audio/video, Italian songs or games and each week your linguistic skills are assessed to ensure you are always in the right group for your level
- Please note all Italian lessons will be held in the native language of Italian; a proven teaching technique that will fully immerse you in the language and accelerate your learning experience
- You’ll learn to cook from one of the following options - traditional Tuscan dishes, fish dishes, pastry, pizza, or ice-cream 
- The cooking class is taught by one of the professional chefs with over 20 years experience
- The class will be taught by the Italian chef in Italian and basic English


Class Schedule
Italian language classes
- Classes run daily Monday to Friday each week
- Classes start at 9:10am each day
- You will have 4 group classes a day lasing 50 minutes each
- You will have a short mid morning coffee break

Introduction to Italian cooking
- Cooking lessons will take place twice a week, in two 3 hours sessions
- Specific times will be arranged on arrival at the language school
- You will decide what type of dishes you’d like to create upon enrolment of the course, subject to availability; choose from fish dishes, Tuscan dishes, pizza making, pastry, or ice cream
- At the end of each cooking lesson you will eat the food that has been prepared during the lesson


Italian Language Level Test
- Please arrive at the school by 8.45am on your first day for a short level test
- This test will assess your understanding of the language and will help the course organisers to place you in the right group class for your level


Free Time In Florence
Many people on these holiday courses travel solo as they make perfect singles holidays so the language school organises a host of social and cultural activities each week to help you to get to know your fellow classmates and to integrate you into the Italian way of life, some activities are free and others have a small charge and may include:
- free activities include walking tours of Florence every Monday, Italian films, five-aside football, sports, visits to nightclubs
- optional excursions can be arranged for activities such as olive oil tasting, additional cooking lessons, cinema visits, group dinners, a Chianti tour, wine tasting, museum visits and longer weekend excursions to the beaches and other cities
- you will have plenty of free time to explore the local area and practice your new found language skills or just kick back and relax on this learning holiday with a difference


Other Information
- We recommend you bring a small Italian dictionary, pens and paper with you
- Classes may be given by different tutors during your course in order to help you get used to different accents


Optional Accommodation
- This language school offers a choice of optional accommodation either staying with a local Italian family to immerse yourself in the Italian culture and practice your Italian or in a shared apartment
- Accommodation details can be seen under the ‘Course Overview’ tab and accommodation can be added during the booking process
