This yoga and climbing holiday in Phang Nga bay in Thailand offers an experience like no other with unrivalled climbing and relaxing yoga in an area of natural beauty.

Yoga and climbing are perfectly complimentary and your yoga teacher is also a fully qualified climbing instructor.  Your daily yoga practice will help you with your rock climbing focus, breathing control, balance, stamina and physical strength.

Stay in a luxury boutique retreat with spa in Phang Nga bay which is a haven of tranquillity and tropical beauty. Considered a hidden gem, this is an idyllic retreat to escape the crowds and enjoy the magnificent tropical island views.

Nestled into the hillside of the bay, Phang Nga bay is surrounded by lush tropical rainforests where you’ll access rock climbing crags by boat with David, your experienced guide and instructor who will ensure you gain the most from your week whatever your level.

Practise pre-climb vinyasa flow style yoga with your tutor David in the custom designed beach sunrise studio on the shore of the bay.

This is perfect backdrop for natural beauty, wellbeing and adventure to meet for a sublime climbing and yoga holiday with a difference.
 

Suitability

Yoga
- Suitable for all levels from complete beginners to those with many years practice of yoga - beginners will find a safe and nurturing environment to begin their yoga practice while more advanced students can maintain and deepen their practice while enjoying the delights of a tropical island

Rock Climbing
- If you have never rock climbed before, you will enjoy an introductory course which provides instruction and safety briefings before heading out to our beginner routes
- For the experienced climber you will enjoy exclusive access to nearly 150 climbs on Koh Yao and the neighbouring islands


Solos Holiday?
- Please note that shared rooms for singles are not offered on this holiday so you must pay a single supplement
- Prices are based on 2 people sharing a room and bathroom
- Courses are based on a minimum of 2 people, it may be possible to join another group on set dates, please email for more information

Non-Participating Partner
- A non-participating partner is welcome to share a double room with someone on the course for a reduced price

Climbing And Yoga Holiday Start Dates
- Courses run throughout the year and are for 7 nights / 8 days
- Yoga and climbing classes start on day 2
- All holidays are on request, please email with your preferred date of travel and we’ll get back to you as quickly as possible with availability


Climbing And Yoga Holiday Itinerary
Please note that the itinerary is for guidance only and may change week to week:
- Each morning you’ll enjoy an energising yoga session at around 8.30am
- You will then have a delicious full buffet breakfast at the resort
- Around 11am you will set off for around a 4 hour rock climbing session (Note: hours of climbing will vary according to your fitness and stamina levels)
- After your climbing session you will have free time to relax
- Yoga classes start on the morning of day 2 and continue to your departure day on day 8 depending on your departure time
- You will have 4 climbing sessions throughout your stay with 3 days off during your week
- You will typically climb for 4 hours at a time and your exact schedule will be confirmed on arrival


What Will I Learn?
Yoga
- Your tutor David teaches Vinyasa flow style yoga which will be tailored to fit your personal needs and level of practice
- This is a synchronization of Asanas (postures) breathing and focus that produces a graceful and rhythmic flowing yoga
- Emphasizing the body-mind connection, the physical Asanas maintain a healthy body through improved flexibility, stamina and strength, while Pranayama, the yogic art of breathing balances the emotions and calms the mind
- You will focus on foundation yoga postures that emphasize the principles of stretching, balance, deep breathing and focus
- Each yoga class finishes with a short guided meditation

Climbing
- The week will see you progress through  learning the basics of rock craft including rope handling, knots, safety and belaying  to moving over the rock with grace, power and precision
- More advanced climbers will climb some of the 150 more challenging routes on Koh Yao Island and the neighbouring islands to develop their rock climbing skills and techniques


Your Yoga And Climbing Instructor
- David is a senior instructor and is an accomplished and highly regarded yoga teacher, meditation guide, life coach and climbing instructor
- Originally from the UK where he founded a school for holistic practices, David has travelled extensively, studying and teaching yoga and climbing in Europe, the USA, S.E. Asia and India
- David spent 12 years in New Mexico hosting wellness retreats and developing his own unique ‘focused and flowing’ style of yoga as well as teaching and guiding climbers in Taos Country and Northern New Mexico
- You will be in expert hands with his creative and often humorous teaching style, inspiring your yoga and climbing to new levels
- David can also be available after classes to share insights and offer guidance on all aspects of yoga, meditation and climbing


Accommodation And Spa
- The hotel where you’ll stay is a unique blend of boutique beach resort and health spa
- With studios and villas nestled into the hillside of the resorts own private bay and surrounded by lush tropical rainforest, the resort truly is an oasis of tranquillity and the perfect setting for your yoga and climbing holiday
- You’ll spend 7  nights / 8 days in an elegantly furnished superior studio with a king-size bed
- Each studio boasts a lovely private sala living area on the balcony with a swing overlooking the tropical gardens (some rooms have a partial view of the bay)
- Rooms are equipped with Satellite TV with international channels, mini-stereo, tea and coffee facilities, cotton bathrobe and slippers, fruit and flowers and bottled water
- The resort has a wonderful pool, restaurant and tropical spa offering Thai massage, hot stone therapy, facials, reflexology and more
- Yoga lessons take place on-site on the beach front Yoga studio
- Prices are based on 2 people sharing a studio room with private bathroom 
- If you are travelling solo private rooms are available for a small supplement, which can be added during the booking process
- Check-in is anytime after 2pm on arrival day and check out by 12pm on your departure day


Meals
- Breakfast is included each morning at the resort and is full buffet style with a wide choice of hot and cold dishes, fresh tropical fruits and juices
- All other meals are at your own expense and can be taken at the resort restaurant or there are other restaurants to choose from outside of the resort


What To Bring
- All climbing equipment is provided but please ensure you bring suitable footwear for climbing which includes flexible, thin soled shoes which will allow you to feel and grip the rock
- Yoga mats are provided but you are more than welcome to bring your own
- Please bring comfortable clothing you can move in easily for your yoga practice and your climbing
- It can be hot in the summer months so please bring clothing that will be suitable for practicing in hot weather


Spa Treatments / Massages
- If you wish to book treatments, the spa is open daily and offers a wide choice of treatments including reflexology, hot stone therapy, facials and more
- All other treatments can be booked and paid for locally
- You also have unlimited use of the herbal steam room


Excursions / More Yoga?
- Please note this package includes a swimming and snorkelling excursion to the nearby Koh Pak Bia Island where you’ll be able to snorkel with some wonderful tropical fish
- If you wish to do more yoga, evening classes are also available and can be booked and paid for locally (at a special price of 600 Bhat per class)


Visas
- Most nationalities need a visa to enter Thailand, which for UK Citizens are issued on arrival for up to 30 days stay (15 days if arriving overland) please check passport requirements with the embassy as unfortunately we cannot give visa advice
- Other nationalities should check visa requirements with the embassy
