This fun and relaxed yoga and Pilates holiday offers beautiful villa accommodation set amongst the volcanoes of the traditional Canarian village of Villaverde, just 10 minutes from the white-sand beaches of Corralejo.
 
Accommodation for this holiday is based in the stylish Sahara Tent that has been decorated in the decadent style of a desert tent. The tent has 2 rooms - a double room and a single room - seperated by curtains with a lovely shared living area. This is glamorous camping; the tent has a solid floor, lighting, kettle, double bed and single bed and access to an indoor bathroom in the main villa.

Solo travellers can stay in a private room in the tent for no single supplement and share the tent with another solo traveller. Two guests travelling together can book the whole tent for private use for no additional cost too, so it's a great option. There will never be more than 2 people sharing the Sahara tent at one time. 

Spend the week focussing on your own complete wellbeing and practise yoga and Pilates each day, including Hatha, Vinyasa and Power styles, combined with guided meditation sessions and yoga nidra.

If you are feeling energetic you can join additional classes of tai chi for no extra charge: rebalance and revive with tai chi lessons.

This holistic retreat has a team of experienced therapists offering complementary therapies, holistic massage and beauty treatments. You can complement your tai chi classes with reiki or your yoga practice with body stretch therapy, or just enjoy some relaxation time with a massage and some pampering. A one-hour full body massage is included with your stay.

The delicious, healthy food is a real highlight of this retreat. Vegetables are grown in the villa garden and meals are planned and prepared by an in-house nutrition advisor and resident chef who is passionate about creating really delicious healthy food.

In between classes, therapies and food you can simply relax around the unheated swimming pool or beach, go surfing or explore the island. Transfers to the beach and to the town are included and you can join excursions to other parts of the island, rent bikes or take a surf course.

The fun and relaxed atmosphere, along with the warm welcome from the whole team, will allow you to really unwind and make the most of your stay in this Canarian paradise. Travelling Solo?
- These retreats make great singles holidays and in fact most people travel solo as they are fun, sociable and wonderfully relaxing
- There are no single supplements for solo travellers to have their own room in the tent and will share the tent with another solo traveller guest

Yoga And Pilates Retreat Itinerary

Please note that the itinerary is for guidance only and may change week to week:
- Each morning you will have either a yoga or Pilates class starting at 8am or 9am
- Every day between 1pm and 3pm practice space is available for those wishing to enjoy their own self practice or meditations
- Early evening (5pm) there will be a class of either Pilates or yoga which will be followed by a meditation class or yoga nidra three evenings per week
- There will be one Tai Chi lesson one morning in the week too
- Between your morning and evening sessions you have the rest of the day free to relax, eat the delicious brunch provided at the villa, explore the local area or book a massage
- Massage treatments or additional 1:1 sessions and excursions are also available at an additional charge and these can be booked on arrival
- Dinner is served at 7pm five times a week (days to be confirmed upon arrival)


Where Will I Practise Yoga And Pilates?
- Yoga and Pilates are practised on the spacious yoga deck in the villa's garden or in the tranquil indoor studio

What Will I Learn In My Pilates And Yoga Lessons?
- Yoga and Pilates practice will be adapted for all levels from complete beginners to advanced
- Teachers will demonstrate modifications and advancements to exercises/poses and classes will be split into ability levels where necessary
- Your yoga classes will be based on different yoga styles of Hatha, Vinyasa Flow, Kundalini, Power and Yoga Nidra
- Yoga practice will cover Asanas (physical movements), Pranayama (breathing practices), Meditation (stilling and calming of the mind & inner self) and Relaxation (complete mind, body relaxation)
- Meditation will include yoga nidra, guided meditation, kundalini yoga
- The small groups allow you to explore alignment within your pose as well as fluid movement from one pose to the next working with our teachers to deepen your practice whatever your level
- The teacher will give you one-to-one attention giving you the confidence to develop a home practice


What To Bring
- Please bring comfortable clothing you can move in easily for your yoga practice and trainers if you would like to take part in Tai chi classes
- It can be hot in the summer months so please bring clothing that will be suitable for practicing in hot weather
- It can be cool in the evening in the winter months so please bring a long-sleeved top or light jacket
- The retreat supplies yoga mats; Magic Circles, straps and blocks where necessary, as well as any additional equipment needed for the specific session


Treatments / Massages
- Includes a one-hour full body massage
- Massages and treatments are available and if you wish to book other treatments, your host Karissa can help you arrange this with the therapist during the week
- Jo, the in-house nutritionist runs nutrition workshops each week, giving general and specific nutrition advice, discussing your diet and suggesting recipes and cooking methods. Please note: these workshops cost extra and can be arranged and paid for upon arrival


About The Accommodation – Sahara Tent

- This is glamorous camping and your tent has been decorated in the decadent style of a Sahara tent with spacious lounge, double and single bed and lighting
- You’ll spend 7 nights / 8 days in the stylish Sahara tent in the grounds of the tranquil eco-villa
- There is a private bedroom with 1 double bed and 1 single bed, access to a shared indoor bathroom in the main villa, kettle and lighting are provided in the tent
- There are no single supplements for solo travellers to have their own room in the tent and rooms are separated by curtains
- There is a lovely pool with sun loungers and plenty of comfy indoor and outdoor seating areas
- Classes take place on the outdoor yoga deck and in the indoor studio
- Check-in is on arrival day after 2pm and check-out is on day 8 by 11am

Meals
- A daily healthy brunch comprising of fruits, home-baked bread, cereals and muesli, eggs, salad, teas and juice is served after each morning session
- Five evening meals are served during the week. Four meals are designed and prepared by the in-house nutritionist, Jo, and on the final evening is a seafood barbeque
- Jo believes that 'Through appropriate nutrition you can add years to your life and life to your years. Proportioning the body with the right nutrients, we can gain health, energy, vitality and live longer and healthier lives. Nutrition is fundamental for physical and mental health'
- Jo uses only the finest, freshest ingredients to cook delicious, healthy and balanced meals
- Meals are vegetarian and seafood based
- If you are vegetarian, vegan or have dietary requests these must be communicated to us at the time of booking
- Award-winning restaurants, an outstanding bakery and a supermarket are just 5 minutes walk away, and the town of Corralejo is 10 minutes drive away

 

Optional 3-day surfing
- Please note that surf classes are held according to the tides and best conditions for learning. This does mean that you may miss a class on your scheduled surfing days - this is so that you will get the best conditions for your surf course. You will always have one class per day which has 4 hours of surf/beach time. By agreeing to these terms, it means you understand that you may miss some classes.
