Whatever your level; learning Spanish in Spain is the best way to accelerate your language learning experience. Immerse yourself in the rich Spanish culture and progress rapidly practising your new found skills in your free time in the lively city of San Sebastian.

Make the most of your time in San Sebastian by attending horse riding lessons in the afternoon at a well known equestrian centre. For 4 days a week you will spend one hour each afternoon improving your skills whether you are beginner or advanced.

You will be taught to speak Spanish by highly qualified native Spanish speakers who have a passion for teaching and use proven language teaching techniques. Your horse riding instructors are highly qualified and will have you up on you riding a horse with confidence in no time.

Who are our guests?
- People come from all over the world and you’ll never be placed in a class with just English speakers so that you use the language you are learning rather than resorting to chatting in English
- Ages vary, but the typical language learner falls in to the 20-60 age bracket though we have no age limit and we’ve had guests in their 70s and 80s studying languages with us
- During the summer and in university holiday times the average age typically drops and there are many guests in their 20s
- Over 90% of our language learners travel solo and every school organises social and cultural activities to help you get to know others at the school outside of class
- Of course, everyone shares a passion or interest in discovering a new language and culture


Spanish and horse riding holiday start days
- The school is open year round
- Please note no lessons will be held on public holidays, dates can be found on the ‘Course overview’ page
- Spanish and horse riding holiday courses start on Mondays throughout the year
- If you book the optional accommodation with this learning holiday, you’ll check-in on Sunday before the course starts


How will I learn Spanish?
- Spanish courses are focused on having fun and classes are highly interactive
- You will focus on the four main Spanish language skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening
- There will be individual and group work such as role plays and conversation practice
- You’ll also work on developing your grammar in practical contexts
- You will learn with a wide range of teaching aids; language text books, Spanish press, audio/video, Spanish songs or games and each week your linguistic skills are assessed to ensure you are always in the right group for your level
- Please note all Spanish lessons will be held in the native language of Spanish; a proven teaching technique that will fully immerse you in the language and accelerate your learning experience


What will I learn during the horse riding lessons?
- All lessons will be matched according to your skill level and past experience horse riding
- 4 different levels are offered: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Expert
- Lessons are in small mixed groups with other language students or locals
- Lessons are offered in Spanish with English translation if necessary so it is suitable whatever your Spanish level
- Once you understand how to treat a horse & prepare it to be ridden, you will learn how to ride within the centre according to your level
- Horse riding lessons will take place in a local well known equestrian centre located just 2.5km from the language school
- The equestrian centre is located in the Loyola neighbourhood; from the language school you take a 5 minute train and instructions will be given to you on arrival


Spanish course schedule
- Spanish classes run daily Monday through to Friday each week
- Language classes start at 9.15am each morning year round
- Please note that in high season, some Spanish classes will start at 1pm depending on your language level
- You will have 4 group classes per day lasting 45 minutes each
- You will have a short coffee break around 11am


Horse riding lessons schedule
- You will head to the equestrian centre to go horse riding in the afternoon after your language lessons
- Your horse riding lessons will take place Tuesday to Friday, you will have 1 horse riding lesson per day lasting 1 hour each
- You will learn to horse ride at a local equestrian centre just 5 minutes by train from the language school


Free time in San Sebastian, Spain
Many people on these holiday courses travel solo as they make perfect singles holidays so the language school organises a host of social and cultural activities each week to help you to get to know your fellow classmates and to integrate you into the Spanish way of life, some activities are free and others have a small charge and may include:
- Visits to San Sebastian, excursions to Fishing Villages, guided visits to museums and more
- You have the opportunity to join dancing lessons or beach-volley games
- Weekend excursions to Pamplona, La Rioja, Madrid, Barcelona, Paris and more can be arranged
- You will have plenty of free time to explore the local area and practice your new found Spanish & surf skills or just kick back and relax on this fun learning holiday
 

Spanish language level test
- Please arrive at the school by 8.45am (8.30am if your course starts in July or August) on your first day for a short level test
- This test will assess your understanding of the language and will help the course organisers to place you in the right group class for your level
 

Other information
- We recommend that you take a small Spanish dictionary, pens and paper with you
- Remember to bring swimmers and sun cream for the beach


Optional accommodation
- This language school offers optional accommodation whilst you are learning Spanish staying with a local Spanish family or in a shared apartment with Spanish locals to immerse yourself in the Spanish culture and practice your Spanish
