Is this the right place for the skill?
We look for a real local connection. That may be a living craft tradition, a language community, a regional cooking method, suitable terrain or a current group of teachers. A convenient pickup point alone is not enough.
What will you do?
The page should name the learner’s role in plain English. You might shape clay, repeat a phrase, season a dish, practise a turn, play a rhythm or improve a photograph after feedback.
Watching can be part of learning, but it should not be sold as hands-on practice when you never touch the material or try the skill.
Who teaches, and how?
We look for a named teacher, practitioner or qualified guide where that matters. A useful outline explains the starting level, group size, teaching language, practice time and how the teacher helps you improve.
For safety-critical activities, we also check the equipment, conditions, instructor ratio and what happens when the weather is unsuitable.
Is the description current and honest?
We compare claims with direct provider information and relevant primary sources. Dates, prices and availability must carry a clear checking date when we publish them. We do not inherit last year’s festival teacher, old timetable or expired course as current inventory.
If a detail is not confirmed, we say so in the supporting panel rather than filling the main description with cautious language.
Does the practical plan work?
A good experience can still be a poor fit for your trip. We consider the real meeting point, transfers, duration, accessibility, dietary needs, season and what happens after the lesson. Pottery may need firing and later collection. A mountain day may begin far from the city named on the page.
What our provider labels mean
An independent directory profile is a researched possibility, not a partner endorsement. A claimed profile will mean that an authorised representative has reviewed key business details. A verified date will show when selected facts were checked; it will never guarantee the future.
