About the location
The setting for your painting holiday in France is your hosts, artist David McEwen and his wife Sally’s wonderfully welcoming home in the pretty town of Lodève.
The house is run as a B&B as well as being the location for painting holidays and boasts an artist studio with indoor workspaces as well as wonderful gardens in which to paint. In fact, the garden leads directly down to the river Soulondre where you’ll find plenty to inspire your creativity.
Lodève is in the Hérault region in Languedoc-Roussillon in southern France; a quiet, scenic and relatively undiscovered part of France not far from Montpellier or the beaches of Sete known as the Venice of France. You’ll have the chance to really immerse yourself in local French life in this bustling town with market, pretty river crossed by 4 wonderful bridges, a 12th century cathedral and many shops and restaurants.
Whether you’re a beginner or a more experienced artist, your hosts will be there to cater to your every need and to help you to really develop your painting skills, improve your techniques and increase your confidence as well as ensuring you have a great, fun holiday.
