Go learn to kite surf on this beginners kitesurfing course where you will be introduced to both the theoretical and practical aspects of kite surfing.
Kite Surfing is the fastest growing water sport in the world, it’s a bit like windsurfing, a bit like wakeboarding and a bit like surfing. It´s the wildest new water sport for years.
Taught by highly qualified, experienced IKO kitesurf instructors, this beginners course will teach you how to fly, launch and land the kite before taking things to the next level to get you up on the board to experience the excitement of this wild sport.
This is a mobile kitesurf school and lessons will take place on the beaches with the best conditions each day ensuring you are always kitesurfing on the best beach around the Lagos area.
You’ll be glad you discovered this fast and thrilling sport.
Suitability
- Suitable beginners and those who may have tried kitesurfing once before and are looking for some expert tuition
- Minimum age 12
- You must be able to swim
Kitesurf Lesson Start Days
- Kitesurf lessons run daily, year round
Kitesurf Lesson Schedule
- You will have a total of 8 hours of kitesurfing tuition spread over 3 days - 2 hours on the Day 1, 3 hours on Day 2, and 3 hours on Day 3
- In exceptional circumstances it is possible to take the course over 4 days, please email for availability
What Will I Learn?
- Safety issues
- The theory and technical aspects of kite surfing
- How to control the kite and launch in the sea
- Body dragging in the water
- Tacking upwind without a board
- One handed kite flying
- Turns and riding upwind
- Getting up on your board and riding in the water experiencing the true thrill of kite surfing
IKO Qualification
- Depending on your progress you may gain your first IKO kite surfing certification
(IKO = International Kite Boarding Organisation)
Kite Surf Equipment
- You will be kitted out with top quality kites, harness, helmet and board
- All equipment is from the current year and supplied by Airush and Prolimit
- The school have a range of 30 boards and 40 kite sizes for you to try and kite sizes range from 6-14 metres
Kitesurfing Equipment Hire
- If you'd like to hire equipment after your kitesurf lessons, you can do so from 1 hour up to 21 days; prices start from approximately €50 for half a day (4 hours)
Weather Conditions
- For safety reasons, lessons can only take place if the weather conditions permit so please be sure to check the start time of each lesson with the school in advance of arrival.
- Any classes that cannot be taken due to weather conditions will be offered on alternative days or a credit will be issued for use any time within 1 year
