This beautiful French manor house is located in one of the most stunning settings imaginable and only a 90 minute drive from Bordeaux airport and even closer to Pau airport.
Located on the eastern edge of the Landes forest, the manor house is also only 90 minutes from the Atlantic beaches and the ski slopes of the Pyrenees Mountains. You will have endless opportunities to explore the surrounding area, including over 7 acres of vineyards, ancient oak forests, rivers, sunflower fields, lakes and orchards and the weather is warm with a soothing breeze from the Pyrenees.
Your hosts, Margaretha and Charles, are extremely welcoming and experienced in their fields. Margaretha is a fully trained medical doctor and an equine-assisted confidence coach who has years of experience in her fields. She is also medically trained hypnotherapist and NLP practitioner. Her husband Charles is a passionate wine connoisseur and a vintner of the city of London with a WSET diploma, who is also an accomplished cook.
Accommodation is set in a beautifully restored traditional manor house which is over 200 years old. Traditionally the vineyard owner’s house, the manor house has 4 double bedrooms, an elegant dining room, small well equipped gym, library, and secluded outdoor courtyards.
The manor house is located in the rural area of Madiran, where Madiran wine is produced which is famed for its health-boosting and anti-aging properties. Both the horse riding and wine tasting holiday and the detox and weight loss retreats will have the chance to sample and enjoy this local delicacy and the benefits of the famed red wine diet
The closest village is only 2km away from the manor house and the village is home to local stores including a bistro, boulangerie and patisserie.
Your hosts own lovely Friesian and Lusitano horses. For those on the horse riding and wine tasting holiday, riding lessons take place in the onsite round pen, 20x40 riding school and during hacks into the surrounding countryside, which is a fantastic opportunity to explore this spectacular scenery.
If the holiday activities are not enough, there are plenty of local attractions in the surrounding area. Play a round of golf at the nearby 18-hole golf course, discover the ancient churches and abbeys, watch the horse racing, join a country dance or simply soak up the sun and marvel at the snow peaked Pyrenees mountains in the distance.
