A beginner Arabic calligraphy class in Marrakech should teach how letterforms are built—not only hand over a decorated name. In a short session, a realistic outcome is learning writing direction, practising a small set of forms and completing one corrected word or composition.

Arabic letters change according to their position in a word. A teacher should therefore explain joining, proportion and spacing rather than treating each character as a separate icon.
