Spend 6 nights / 7 days in beautiful Essaouira, in the heart of the old town just 300 metres from the coast. Enjoy the dramatic landscapes and excellent kitesurf conditions in this fantastic area of Morocco.

This kitesurfing holiday brings together rich culture, the passion for the sea and the thrill of the extreme with one of the world’s fastest growing water sports. Truly exhilarating and easy to learn, from the moment you launch your first kite and feel the power of the wind and the thrill of being on the sea, you will be hooked on kiting!

Courses for beginners are run on Essaouira beach where the conditions are ideal for those starting out on their kitesurf adventure. For those looking to improve their technique Morocco offers suitable conditions for all levels.

Stay in a gorgeous boutique style Riad close to the shops and restaurant and just a few steps from the beach!

Learn to Kitesurf in Essaouira, a great place to sit in the beach-front cafes sipping drinks and listening to Gnawa music. When you’re not kitesurfing you can visit the maze of Souks, the relaxing hammans or enjoy a mint tea on your roof terrace as the sun sets for a kitesurfing holiday with a difference.


Travelling Solo?

- Essaouira is very relaxed and welcoming town with a great Bohemian feel because of its music and art scene
- The majority of people who take these courses are solo travellers especially female and everyone loves the location
- The Riad where the accommodation is held is also very central, just 2 minutes walk from the surf shop in the centre of town
- The instructors and guests often go meet at the surf shop in the evenings to have a tea and often go out for dinner together
- Free surf and stand up paddling rental is available

Kitesurfing Holiday Start Days
- Holidays run year round taking advantage of the great weather and arrivals are accepted on any day of the year
- Kitesurfing holidays are for 6 nights / 7 days
- If you wish to stay for extra nights please email to check availability for your preferred duration and we will do our best to accommodate you
- If dates appear ‘on request’ please email us at  and we’ll check availability for your preferred day of arrival as quickly as possible


Typical Kitesurfing Holiday Itinerary
The itinerary is for guidance only and is subject to change depending on weather conditions and the group’s needs and wishes but is typically as follows:

Day 1 Arrival And Pick Up
- You’ll be collected from Essaouira airport and transferred to your accommodation in Essaouira (around 10-15 minute drive)
- You will have time to settle into your room at the unique Moroccan Riad and soak up the creative atmosphere.  In the evening you will enjoy a traditional Moroccan meal and mint tea

Days 2-6 - Kitesurfing
- Each day you will enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your accommodation
- You will have 2.5 hours of kitesurfing lessons on each of these days
- You will set out with your instructor in the morning to find the best waves, transport is provided
- You are free to take breaks when you want, if you feel tired you can always sit on the beach and soak up some sun

Day 7 – Departure day
- After breakfast you will check out of the Riad in time to be taken to the airport for your return flight


Weather Conditions
- For safety reasons, lessons can only take place if the weather conditions permit so please be sure to check the weather conditions with the school in advance of arrival
- In the unlikely event that the conditions mean you cannot take a lesson, lessons will be completed over a shorter duration
- If you are unable to kitesurf you will be given the option to receive surf/horseriding lessons or a voucher which will allow you to take your missed lessons at a later date


About The Instructors
- All instructors are fully qualified in the kitesurfing (IKO and VDWS) that they teach and are multi-lingual
- Your experience is at the heart of what they do and every instructor wants to ensure you have a great time
- They can tailor and create the experience to your needs and level


About The Equipment
- You will be kitted out in top quality equipment incouding wetsuit, board and harness
- All equipment is brand new each year.  All equipment is provided for you, all you need to do is bring yourselves, your swimwear, a towel and sun block!
- For your first lesson we would advise you also bring your sunglasses
- Free surf and stand up paddling rental is also available


What Will I Learn?
- Elementary water safety
- Level 1: On the beach, flying a 2 line kite, understanding the wind, wind window, theory and safety
-Level 2: Flying a 4 line kite, understanding how to set up a kite, launch and land successfully, understand how to handle the kite and move in and out of the power zone - Body dragging in the sea, soft body dragging and power body dragging up wind
- Level 3: Water Start with the board and the kite, experiencing your first ride
- Level 4: Riding with confidence, looking at extending your ride, your stance, how to ride up wind and execute your first jumps
- Level 5: Progression honing your style and moving forward to perform basic and more complex wakeboard maneuvers


The Accommodation And Meals
- Accommodation is set in a boutique Riad located in the heart of the old town Medina and just few steps from the beach.

- It is a really welcoming and cosy Riad featuring 6 rooms and a roof terrace where BBQ are often held.

- If the Riad Zelaka is full, you will stay in a boutique hotel located within the old town has been lovingly restored to its original Moorish glory
- The beautiful 18th Century Riad is situated just 300 metres from the sea right in the heart of the Medina
- Positioned in the heart of the pedestrianised old city the 18th century Riad is now luxuriously renovated in Moorish style offering 8 rooms on a mezzanine floor
- There are 4 twin/double suites and 4 quadruple suites
- The rooms all open onto a light-filled interior patio with traditional Moroccan tiling
- All rooms are en-suite with lounge area, furnished in traditional Moroccan style
- It offers a beautiful sunny roof terrace with views of the sea and the roof of the Mellah (walled Jewish quarter)
- Moroccan meals served on request in the traditional restaurant
- Friendly and hospitable staff add to the charm and the character of the Riad
- All breakfasts are included in the price of your course
- Lunches and meals are not included but are typically inexpensive in Morocco
- During the week you will enjoy 1 group meal, time to be confirmed on arrival
- Arrivals are on day 1 and departure is on day 7
- Wi-fi is available and works best in the lounge and lobby area


Transfers and Transport
- A pick up from Essaouira airport with a transfer to your hotel is included in the price

- The mix of whitewashed fishing ports, bright North African technicolor and picture-postcard ramparts has been the inspiration for artists the world over particularly for musicians and photographers helping to give the town its unique creative atmosphere especially at the time of international music festivals
- You can sit in the beach-front cafes and sipping drinks listening to Gnawa, a deep soulful sound derived from sub-Saharan Africa
